Grade 12 students Emily Brolese and Rebecca Cowie walked around to classes on Friday January 13 and Wednesday January 18 for their Leadership class culminating project. They raised awareness and money to help find the cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Rebecca first contacted the JDRF (Juvilene Diabetes Research Foundation) and they sent the the duo a package with paper sneakers, silly bands, pamphlets and calendars. They gathered a group of supporting students including AJ Adams, Mickey Collins, Josiah Chalmers, Meagan MacDonald and Katie Morris to help going class to class. Emily put up posters up around the school to let people know they were coming around to homeroom classrooms.
The girls had great from staff and students of KDSS and raised $252.66 and were able to put up 76 shoes in the grade 11 hallway.
Emily and Rebecca would like to thank everyone for their support and they very much appreciated teacehrs allowing us to come around to home room classes!
