BAA CHAMPIONS!!!

♫ We Are the Champions! ♫

The KDSS Knights have done it again! Another BAA title to their name! On Friday Feb 24th, the KDSS Boys Hockey team faced off against the Scared Heart Crusaders in the BAA Championship game!

The two teams were evenly matched as it seemed it would be a goalless first period until Paul Gill scored the first goal for the Crusaders. The Knights were determined to get ahead of their opponent. The boys put in all their might. With only 22.2 seconds on the clock KDSS Knight Chris Beattie (5th year student) scored a goal and evened the score to 1-1!

It was anyone's game when second period rolled around, until Riley Cook (Grade 10) assisted by Ryker Killins (grade 10) scored another goal for the Knights half way through the period! 2 -1 for the Knights!

Once the the zamboni clear the ice and the players hit the ice for the third and final period The Knights were determined to keep their spot as soon to winners. Goalie Easton Battler saved many shots in the game keeping the Knights in the lead. With just three minutes left in the game Ryker Killins scored the third and winning goal for the team!

With only 40 seconds on the clock, the last face off was played and the countdown began! The horn of the clock buzzed and the boys were ecstatic of their win! 2012 BAA Champions!
