Life of the Knights: Art History Trip Fundraising

Next March (2012), students from the art history class will be touring the streets of Europe. The trip takes place over 13 days once the students leave the Pearson International Airport in Toronto on March 7 2012. The students will be touring Rome, Florence & Paris.

The purpose of the trip is to explore the art and architecture up close in addition to viewing them in the text book. The trip also promotes knowledge of culture and to study abroad.

This trip is a great experience however it comes at a price. The art history class is currently doing fundraisers to bring the cost down for the attendees. Currently, one of the fundraising campaigns are Christmas Cards that were designed by Grade 10 art students. They are 50 cents each or 5 for $2.

The other current campaign is calendar sales. The calendars feature art by Grade 11 and 12 students, as well as the cover designed by Brian Roppell (a previous KDSS art student). The calendars are only $20 each. Orders will be taken at the "anti-T" in the hall at lunch from Tuesday Dec. 13 until Thursday Dec. 15. Calendars are available for purchase from the art history class until further notice.

All the proceeds for this fundraiser and future fundraisers will go towards the trip!
