Bleachers Filled With Students |
During the past week at KDSS the hallways and cafeteria have been empty. But where have the students been? In the bleachers of the gym of course! During the lunch hour, students watched as the first ever intramural floor hockey tournament occurred. 12 teams played in the tournament. With teams made up of everyone in the school from grade 9s to 5th years.

Kristen Derksen & Scotty Smith |
The Floor Hockey Tournament was run and organized by Scotty Smith & Kristen Derksen (Grade 11 students). The grade 11 Leadership class's culminating activity is to run and organize a school or community event. Derksen & Smith teamed up their leadership skills and passion for the game of hockey and created this excellent intramural event. This event didn't only benefit Scotty and Kristen but the student body as well. It brought roughly half to the school together as they watched willingly in the bleachers during the lunch hour. The game it's self helped out by promoting being active, instead of sitting around during the lunch hour.
