KDSS Mourns the loss of a Student.

On Tuesday, November 22, 18-year-old Jessica Pool was killed in a tragic car accident. "You really see how people come together and support each other during these times. Eventually the kids will come together and comfort each other," said KDSS Principal, Randall DeKraker.

Jessica was involved in many activities in her life, both in school and out of school. Jessica was a member of OSAID (Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving), Prom committee and she was in many of the schools drama productions and was a huge fan of KDSS's drama classes. Outside of school Jessica was a lifeguard, Day-camp leader and an Air Cadet.

KDSS had a memorial banner that students could sign to share their memories of Jessica. The BWDSB Crisis Team was set up in the guidance office for any student who needed someone to talk to. Local ministers were also present in the school if they needed to pray.
A memorial group has been started on Facebook in honour of Jessica, called "RIP Jessica Pool". The group has been flooded with comments from friends and family
Visitations were held at the Davey Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine on Saturday, Nov. 26, and the funeral was held on Sunday, officiated by Rev. Ray Luinstra.

Jessica will always be remember by KDSS and the Kincardine Community.
