PROUD TO BE A KNIGHT!

On Tuesday March 6th and Wednesday March 7th, Kincardine & District Secondary School (KDSS) hosted the 2012 CWOSSA Hockey. This was the first time KDSS has ever hosted CWOSSA (Central-Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association). Both the KDSS teams did extremely well!
Both KDSS teams did extremely well in CWOSSA - Boys Gold and Girls Silver
SILVER!

After to days of hard work and determination the KDSS girls Hockey team can proudly walk away with silver medals! The girls won their first game of the tournament by a score of 5-0. Goal scorers for the Knights were Sara Gossell with a two goals, and one goal each was scored by Jessica Satosek, Abbey Gibson and Hannah Davidson. Assists were earned by Hailey Allen with two, Courtney Surridge and Mikhayla Bowes with one each.

The Knights second game was a another win! Abbey Gibson scored two goals in this contest to power the Knights to a 2-0 win. Assists were by Carly Smith with two, Hannah Davidson and Sara Gossell with one.

Even with the crowd filled with students of KDSS and the moral at a high the Knights couldn't get a goal on the the goalie from Our Lady of Lourdes of Guelph and lost the game by a score of 1-0 to win the silver medal at CWOSSA.

Even though the Knights got silver at CWOSSA they are still heading to OFSAA held in Belleville on March 20-23.

GOLD!!
For the first time ever in KDSS's 58 year history, The Knights can now claim the title of CWOSSA Gold Medalist.
The Boys won all 3 of there games on Tuesday and put them into the Gold Match on Wednesday. The Knights were up against no other than their arch nemesis, the Sacred Heart Crusaders. This was a re-match of the BAA finals only a few weeks earlier where the Knights beat the Crusaders 3-1.

Keegan McLelland (Grade 10) got the first goals, then helped set up a goal by Jory Norman (Grade 12) only 43 seconds later. Jacob Siekierski (5th year), Mitch Dickson (Grade 12) and Paul Lamont (5th Year) had the other assists. Easton Battler (5th Year) was amzaing in net as he only let in two goals during the whole CWOSSA tournament

KDSS will head to Peterborough later in the month to represent CWOSSA at the provincial tournament.

Congrats to both teams! You have made KDSS very proud! Good Luck at OFSSA!
